Night Lights Trail

Night in the city can provide some inspirational photographic subjects, but can also present some interesting challenges for the photographer.

On this short evening course you will be led on a trail of the West End of London by a professional photographer, learning how to capture vibrant images under a range of low light conditions. The course covers:
Piccadilly Night

  • Assessing light, and working with it for creative effect
  • How to use your camera in low light scenarios, including appropriate use of ISO and aperture
  • Effective use of flash
  • Working without flash and tripods in low light

These principles will also help you under other low light situations, such as weddings and sunsets.

The trail runs on two consecutive weeks, and starts near Piccadilly Circus. It is aimed at people who are familiar with the basics of their DSLR, and want to get to grips with this challenging subject. It costs £70 per person.

If you have a tripod, it's definitely worth bringing it along. Don't worry if you don't own a tripod - we will also show you how best to work without one in low light! You can book by clicking the link below:
